Bipolar Essays - The Heavy Metal Door
She looked up to check the surveillance camera angle and chose the corner away from the door, on the same wall as the camera. That was the best she could do. She huddled down in the corner in an upright fetal position, hiding her face in her hands. A sob of futility shook her tightly compressed body, just once and then she was quiet. She didn’t exist, therefore the world didn’t exist. She rested in a world known only to her. The psyche nurse entered. Standing well back, the nurse dropped the hospital garb near by and stated “dress out, or we will dress you out for you”. The nurse left her. There wasn’t much choice in this command from the other world. Do as I say, or we will strip your dignity, and expose your flesh. The cornered woman thought about these options, but stood and changed out of her street clothes, for the clothes the hospital offered. She tucked her wallet and keys in her shoes for safe keeping. She returned quickly to her crouched huddled position. The corner shielding her from the assault of the open room. A security guard entered next, and reaching out, safely from far away, robbing the woman of her last vestiges of freedom – her clothes, her shoes, her wallet, and her keys. They were taken from her. The guard left her, shutting the metal door with a slight slam to it. The woman dozed. She had heavily drugged herself the night before. The drug still in her system left her with little thought. Any thought that remained, made little sense. She wondered what was going on.

My name is Linda. I welcome your feedback.
However, please be gentle and speak softly.
Ordinary real life rocks my mood, and I really
don't need Internet email, to set off a mood episode in motion - you know what I mean?
I look forward to hearing from you, and if I can be of help in any way, I sure will try.
