Stikine Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour

Helicopter Stikine Heli Imagine what you might see from deep within the chasm of the majestic, awe inspiring Stikine Grand Canyon! Yes, from within the canyon walls, a view accessible only by helicopter! Leave directly the Bear Paw Resort in the morning via helicopter, tour the spectacular canyon, scout for numerous Mountain goats precariously perched on the sheer canyon walls, and make camp amidst this incredible setting of impassable boiling cauldron of whitewater.

Hike up to the higher levels for a wildlife viewing perspective equaled by none. Overnight at the base camp with our guide prepared meals, another day of scenic wonder and return (breathless?) by helicopter to the Bear Paw Resort.

Stikine Heli Lying west of highway 37 and surrounded by the Stikine River Recreation Area is a geographical feature unparalleled elsewhere in Canada, and is to date a seldom seen sight.

80 km of steep walled canyon, composed of sedimentary and volcanic rock, has been carved through eons of river erosion. In the bottom of this sometimes 300m deep chasm flows the wild an unnavigatable Stikine River which varies in width from 200m to as little as two meters at a point near the confluence of the Stikine and Tanzilla Rivers.

This area is accessible only by helicopter, and in some areas by boat or hiking. It's mountain goat population and breathtaking scenery offer superb photographic opportunities.
